Help section: Software and file formats
What format do vector images come in?Our images are accessible for downloads in three formats - *.eps/ai (EPS/AI 7, in zip-archive), *.cdr (CorelDraw 9) and *.wmf (WMF, in zip-archive).
What software is required to open the files?Required software is: CorelDraw (version 9.0 or newer; for *.cdr files), Adobe Illustrator (versions 9.0 or newer; for *.eps/*.ai files) or Inkspace (for *.wmf files). Some other graphic software supports *.wmf files (please note *.wmf file may be previewed not only by vector graphic software). You also need 7Zip, WinZip or other unzipping utility for zip-files decompression. All *.eps/ai and *.wmf files are zipped. If you don't have zip utility, get it for free at www.7-zip.org
In case of using other software you will probably need to convert the files to other vector format first. The files in other vector
formats can be requested by e-mail and we'll send you requested files during 1-2 days in ANY vector format you need (AI 4-10, EPS 4-10, CDR 4-12, CMX, WMF, EMF, etc.)
If you use FreeHand, LXI or Omega you should request files in AI 4 or EPS 4 format.
If you don't know what file format supported by your software please also download our free vector samples (in EPS 7, CDR 9 and WMF formats) and check what file format your software program supports.
Vynil-Ready Images (for vinyl cutting) are marked as "cuttable". File structure is extremely critical in vinyl artwork as all paths are cut. Before working with vinyl, please check the following points for every file: 1) ensure artwork is clean, simple and free of intersection or
overlapping lines; 2) ensure all text is converted to paths; 3) supply an accurate color or black and white proof for each element of your display (no graduated fills!).
How can I convert bitmap (raster image) to vector format? The conversation from raster to vector format unfortunately is not easy process. There is conversation software. You can find the
information about such software at http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/bitmaptovector/
However the quality of automatic conversation is often not sufficiently good for professional purposes. The best way to convert raster image to vector format is manually redrawing but it takes a lot of time.
